Religious Education
At Filey School, religious education makes an important contribution to the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils, supporting their understanding of their wider community and the world that they live in. Throughout KS3 and KS4, pupils access a range of topics and themes which are chosen to encourage critical thought, openminded attitudes and an understanding of others’ thoughts regardless of their religious beliefs, ethnicity, or individual circumstances. The programme of study encourages empathetic communication, appraisal of other beliefs and social awareness and is delivered as part of our Life programme.
