For students currently in Year 9 then Scarborough University Technical College provides a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in engineering, computer science or health whilst studying for Technical Qualifications and GCSEs. Working in partnership with employers allows us to deliver an exciting curriculum with students benefitting from a wealth of commercial knowledge and the chance to experience work and everyday life within a business context.
Studying at Scarborough UTC will open up a world of exciting careers in areas such as cyber technology, robotics, nursing and health and social care and engineering. Our students will become the new generation of engineers, scientists, health professionals, designers and technicians, contributing towards Scarborough’s continuing transformation into a centre of excellence for innovation.
The strength of Scarborough UTC is its close working relationship with our employers that is forged through the workplace and higher education. By exposing our brightest and most determined young people to the full scale of engineering, design, computer science and health and care disciplines and opportunities, we are able to provide a unique learning experience which strongly reflects the commitment of our employers, such as Unison Ltd, GCHQ, McCain, NHS and the Universities of Hull and Coventry.
We aim for Scarborough UTC to become a centre of excellence for 14-19 technical and vocational education in the region which sits at the heart of its community, alongside other schools and colleges.

Our 3 main specialisms are engineering, cyber security and health and we offer a distinctive curriculum that blends academic and vocational learning with real-life work experience with leading employers.

TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE, EMPLOYABLE GRADUATES
We offer technically orientated courses, combining national curriculum requirements such as GCSEs and A-Levels with technical and vocational elements. We teach crucial employability and business skills and offer our students clear routes into higher education and apprenticeships.
