Entry requirements

Our Sixth Form has a minimum entry requirement for all A level and Level 3 courses of 5 standard passes at GCSE (currently grade 4 and above) including Maths and English. Some of our courses have specific GCSE grade requirements so read the Sixth Form@Scarborough UTC booklet carefully to be aware of these. We are committed to helping students succeed in their studies in order for them to gain the university or apprenticeship place that they require.

Sixth Form

Students select one of four pathways. Each pathway has entry criteria which can be seen at the bottom of each column. Each pathway runs for two years. In addition to the pathway choice, students study x1 period per week of World Views and Modern Issues and 2 periods per week of Enrichment.

Technical subjects:

The study of technical subjects is vital in developing the core knowledge, skills and understanding needed by all good engineers and computer scientists. In particular being able to work in practical environments designing, and engineering products and systems, and building networks and writing and testing programmes prepares our students extremely well for successful careers in engineering and cyber.

Core subjects:

Core subjects comprise of a range of A levels. These are designed to offer complementary study alongside our technical courses. Alternatively they can be studied in a suite of up to 4 A levels. Our Sixth Form team will happily discuss the best combinations based on your career plans and potential destinations.

Apply to study in Year 9, 10 or Year 12

Join us in September and #ProgrammeYourFuture for a career in industry with our specialisms in engineering and cyber security.
