PE School sweatshirt/cardigan, plain black or navy shorts, leggings or joggers, white polo shirt or T-shirt and trainers.  Please name all items of PE Kit as this helps us return any lost items. Jewellery   A limited number of items of jewellery are permitted in school – these include:   A watch (not a Smartwatch) Plain stud earrings. Jewellery worn for religious reasons.   Please note that no bracelets, rings, necklaces should be worn.

Hair   Please note that long hair needs to be always tied back. This is for Health and Safety reasons, as well as for prevention of the spreading of head lice. Hair should be tied back with plain hair bands/clips etc. Animal ears and large bright bows should not be worn.   Hair should not be dyed.

There is a uniform shop which is open in the dining hall from 2.45pm to 3.00pm every Thursday. Please come to the main reception where you will need to sign in. The Friends of Newby and Scalby Primary School run the uniform shop, where all logo items of school uniform can be purchased, at prices that are equivalent or less than other local stockists and all monies raised from purchases are used to benefit the school. 

As well as new logo items of school uniform available, the uniform shop also sells as good-as-new uniform, including trousers, shorts, dresses, skirts, summer dresses as well as logo items of uniform with items priced at £1 or less. The uniform shop is only able to accept cash or cheque payments.

New logo items can also be purchased online directly from our local supplier’s website, www.edgeclothing.co.uk. Prices online are the same as at the uniform shop, with the school still benefiting from any monies raised from the items purchased and delivery, either to school during term time or your home address during the holidays, is free of charge.

Uniform with a logo is not statutory and generic items of school clothing can be purchased at a number of local retailers, including Matalan, Sainsbury's and local second hand retailers.
